Beginning Chapter Books

Thanksgiving is supposed to be about gathering together and sharing, but we all need a little alone time after big family gatherings, especially kids. Instead of jumping for the TV or arguing over which movies to watch, hand your kids some fun books about Thanksgiving. Some of these books dive into history, some are modern-day mysteries, and some are focused on the heart of the holiday. All will capture your child's attention and give you a way to sneak in some learning between football and pumpkin pie. Who knows, you might end up learning a little more about the holiday in the process. Here are 9 great early chapter books (grades 1-4) about Thanksgiving.

Stink is her Jones’ little brother and this series is geared specifically for little boys and especially readers who are just stepping into chapter books. This book really captivated my son’s imagination. He loved the idea of the moon base where humans are building a new society. Plus it has some mystery which makes it interesting and fun.
