I have installed GPSGate v1.10c onto my Navman PiN Pocket PC and run SmartST V2 with GPS Dash v1.7a and Travel-iLE V2.1. I set up a virtual port using port 7. This combination works well but I find after about 4-6 hours I lose the GPS signal from the virtual port and I am unable to access the settings for GPSGate. If I do manage to restart GPSGate, virtual port 7 is no longer available and it appears as if GPSGate is still running in the background but has frozen. The only way I can overcome this issue is to do a soft reset and start all over again. This is fine excepting when you are on the open road and need to pull over to carry out a reset before continuing.

I have all the settings as per the instructions (including using 'Reset on Timeout'). Is this a bug or do I have a setting problem? Johan, The common theme here (as dcb.2004 runs different mapping software to me and I don't run GPS Dash [although I have just downloaded and checked it out]) seems to be the Mio168, Travel-i(either LE or Solo as the same thing happens to me with either) and GPSGate. The problem is that the GPSGate crashes are fairly intermittent.

Sony Kdl 32v4500 Update Windows there. I will try running Travel-i and GPSGate together without anything else running for a few days and see what happens. This will be a bit boring as I like to paly about with other progs as well. But Hey Ho, what the h*** Trevor Regards Trev. Johan, I upgraded to the Standard version og GPSGate last night then did a bit of experimenting.

I left GPSGate running all night in conjunction with Travel-i. However, and this might be a clue to the problem, I then tried to shut down GPSGate with Travel-i still running. It came up with the warning about application still connected, whick I OKd and shut it down anyway. The icon went from the bottom right of the Today screen but I then could not re-start it without a soft reset. I repeated the experiment with the same results.

Further investigations with shutting it down when GPS Dash was running came up with exactly the same results. I couldn't try it with my MioMap, because I can't get at the today screen with MioMap running, and as GPS Gate does not show as a running program (Why Not?) couldn't try to shut it down that way. Your comments would be appreciated. Hope this helps Regards Trevor Regards Trev. GpsGate for Pocket PC can not be closed when any application is connected to the virtual ports. GpsGate for Windows does not have this limitation.

The Pocket PC version should in fact refuse to be shut down in that case. (But appearantly you succeded in some way.) Anyway it is an unsupported scenario for Pocket PC, that we will do something about in the next version of GpsGate for Pocket PC. To show the GpsGate menu when you cannot reach the today screen, simply start GpsGate once more. If you start GpsGate when already running it will show the menu on top of all windows. Cara Mckenna Willing Victim Pdf To Excel. You can typically connect GpsGate to a button to accomplish this. Regards, Johan Franson Support. Johan The method that I used to close GPSGate was to hit the X ath the top right of the screen for GPSDash and Travel-i, which exposes the today screen, then chose to exit GPSGate and OK the warning dialog.

I have now also managed to close it down from MioMap by ising the technique that you explained in your answer. OK so I won't go closing it willy nilly whilst it is in use, but the point that I was making is that if it is closed whilst in use, it requires that the PPC is soft reset to get it going again.

Although prevention of closeure would remove this deliberate 'sabotage', will it stop an uncommanded closure as appears to be hapening. Is it possible that, under certain conditions, GPSGate is closing in the background thus requiring the reset button to be pressed as this is what appears to be hapening. The only observable difference between the deliberate closing of GPSGate with an App open, and the crash type closure is that for the first, the icon goes from the bottom right og 'Today' but when it crashes all on its own, the icon is still there but totally unresponsive. As stated before, in both cases, GPSGate cannot be restarted without resetting the PPC. Regards Trev Display posts from previous: Sort.
